NEW YORK, NY – President Bill Clinton announced today the
names of additional government, corporate, and nonprofit leaders who will attend
the second annual Clinton Global Initiative America (CGI America) meeting in
Chicago June 7-8. The newly announced participants will join more than 750 other
stakeholders who are gathering at the two-day working meeting to forge
cross-sector collaborations that promote economic recovery and job creation in
the United States.
The 2012 CGI America Meeting will take place at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel
& Towers. Gathering in large plenary sessions and smaller working groups,
attendees ranging from Fortune 500 CEOs to mayors will discuss and publicly
commit to innovative solutions that prepare Americans to be competitive in the
global economy.
Participants will join one of the 12 topic-specific Working Groups that will
provide them with opportunities to share knowledge, build partnerships, and
generate Commitments to Action: new, specific, and measurable plans that address
an economic challenge facing the United States.
The 12 CGI America Working Group topics include: Advanced Manufacturing,
Clean Electricity and Efficiency, Clean Fuel and Transportation, Early Childhood
Education, Entrepreneurship, Financial Inclusion, Housing Recovery, Reconnecting
Youth, Small Business, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math)
Education, Wellness, and Workforce Development.
