For 73 years, the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition has showcased the finest domestic and international vintages through a wine-tasting event that is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious in the United States. An esteemed panel of judges uses a blind-tasting method, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism that has remained the competition’s foundation for seven decades.

Additionally, the Competition is the platform for an extensive wine education program available to the nearly 1.5 million visitors at the annual L.A. County Fair. The Fair’s wine education center features consumer-driven classes, tastings and displays of the award-winning wines. With the L.A. NEW YORK, NY – President Bill Clinton announced today the names of additional government, corporate, and nonprofit leaders who will attend the second annual Clinton Global Initiative America (CGI America) meeting in Chicago June 7-8. The newly announced participants will join more than 750 other stakeholders who are gathering at the two-day working meeting to forge cross-sector collaborations that promote economic recovery and job creation in the United States.

The 2012 CGI America Meeting will take place at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. Gathering in large plenary sessions and smaller working groups, attendees ranging from Fortune 500 CEOs to mayors will discuss and publicly commit to innovative solutions that prepare Americans to be competitive in the global economy.

Participants will join one of the 12 topic-specific Working Groups that will provide them with opportunities to share knowledge, build partnerships, and generate Commitments to Action: new, specific, and measurable plans that address an economic challenge facing the United States.

WILLIAM GRANT & SONS CROWNED DISTILLER AND INTERNATIONAL DISTILLER OF THE YEAR 17 November 2011 Pioneering distiller scoops two prestigious titles, three trophies and 51 medals at IWSC Awards (New York, NY) Independent, family-owned distiller William Grant & Sons has been named the 2011 ‘Distiller of the Year’ and ‘International Spirits Producer of the Year’ at the prestigious International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) Awards, which took place at Guildhall in London, last night. William Grant & Sons has retained the IWSC’s title of ‘Distiller of the Year’ from last year, the fourth time it has been awarded this highly sought-after title since 1999, having received distiller accolades from ISC and IWSC an unprecedented nine times in the last 12 years. In total the Company took home 56 awards – including three Trophies and 19 Golds. Leading the way was Glenfiddich, which received Gold awards for every one of its core brand variants from 12–40 Year Old. Glenfiddich Appoints Porter Novelli for Global Role

LONDON, March 30, 2012 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Glenfiddich, the world's most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, has called in Porter Novelli to develop its global consumer PR strategy.

The agency has been awarded the six-figure brief after winning a four way pitch.

Porter Novelli will amplify Glenfiddich's quality and malt credentials with PR support for existing initiatives including the brand's new global marketing platform, One Day You Will, developed by Leagas Delaney. Porter Novelli also will work on Glenfiddich's 125th anniversary celebrations and its highly respected Artists in Residence programme, which involves contemporary artists from around the world completing a summer residency at the brand's Speyside distillery, leaving behind a piece of art inspired by their experience.
