to Meet
Needs of Growing Portfolio
Industry Veterans Vanderbilt and MacDonald’s Roles
Elevated
SAN FRANCISCO (FEBRUARY 11,
2014) – Campari America, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Davide Campari-Milano S.p.A. (Reuters CPRI.MI - Bloomberg CPR IM),
announces the restructuring of its sales organization to more fully meet the
needs of the company’s growing portfolio and distributor network. Effective
immediately, Campari America has created two customer-focused sales business
units: a
Southern Wine & Spirits Sales Unit, headed up by Vice
President Sales Dan Vanderbilt, formerly Regional Vice President of the East;
and a
Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC)/Independent Sales
Unit, headed up by Vice President Sales Jock MacDonald, formerly Regional
Vice President for Control States.
“From a company focused primarily
just on SKYY® Vodka less than ten years ago, Campari America has grown
dynamically in recent years, reaching new milestones in sales for Gruppo
Campari,” said Roy Danis, Managing Director, Campari America. “This rapid
expansion necessitates us to evolve our organization not only to meet today’s
business needs, but to also help fuel our growth engines far into the future.
Led by industry veterans Dan Vanderbilt and Jock MacDonald, this restructuring
will drive best-in-class sales execution and better alignment with our
distributor partners.”
In a decade, Campari America, has
grown from a company with a singular focus to a portfolio with more than 40
brands representing almost every major spirits category. In 2013 alone, the
company launched Wild Turkey Spiced ™ and Wild Turkey Forgiven™; added Appleton®
Estate and Wray & Nephew® Rums; assumed distribution for Aperol ®; unveiled
Cabo Diablo™ coffee liqueur spiked with tequila; and launched a line extension
from X-Rated ® Fusion Liqueur® called TROPIX ™.
MacDonald and Vanderbilt, who have both been with the Campari
America organization (formerly Skyy Spirits) for more than ten years, will
manage a team of accomplished Division Vice Presidents including Tim Redell –
SWS East, Fred Schell – SWS Midwest, Justin Pearce – SWS Pacific, Dan Butkus –
Independents, and Tom Amlong – RNDC. In addition, Rick Monkarsh, formerly
Campari America’s SWS West Sales Director, has been promoted to VP Business
Development. Monkarsh, MacDonald and Vanderbilt will all report to Roy
Danis.
