Chelsea Clinton to travel to Cambodia

(New York, NY)-- On May 29th and 30th, Chelsea Clinton will be in Cambodia to visit Clinton Foundation projects. Her visit is an opportunity to highlight the work of the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). CHAI has long been committed to fighting HIV/AIDS in Cambodia, and has seen incredible success, with the help and leadership of the Cambodian government. Since CHAI began working with the Cambodian government in 2005, Cambodia has become one of the first countries in the world with universal access for antiretroviral treatment for adults and children, and is now working to eliminate Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS. Chelsea’s visits in Phnom Penh and the Prey Veng Province will showcase this success and launch a new way forward to combat the disease.

On Wednesday, May 29th, Chelsea will attend a partnership event with the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STDs (NCHADS), where she will deliver remarks and participate in a town hall with NCHADS staff. This visit will emphasize CHAI’s work with NCHADS, the success of their HIV program, and the way forward to reduce Mother-to-Child Transmission.

On May 30th, she will travel to the Neak Loeang Referral Hospital, where she will launch CHAI’s new Cambodia 3.0 Strategy, which aims to have zero new deaths, zero new infections, and zero stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS.
